If you're interested in basic functionalities and structure, I suggest you read the
About section first.
As you probably already noticed, wallbase is not an ordinary wallpaper website you see browsing the interwebz. There are no categories (except 3 basic boards - wallpaper general (wg), anime/manga (w) and high resolution (hr)), thumbnails are big and sharp, porn, gore, blood [...] is present, and there are no ads at all (I'll get to it later).
One of the most basic feature which you will probably use very often is the search field, which is divided into two tabs:
—
Keyword search (Self explanatory. Searches through )
—
Color search (By providing a color, the script tries to deliver wallpapers which have this color in theire pallette. It searches only the dominant color of the wallpaper pallette)
Additionally if someone wants to customize theire search results, there is an advanced-search window located below the search field. You can activate it by clicking a button near the input field at the start page:

The advanced search options are not visible only in the home page. They are also present in almost every section of the website.
Besides the search features, you can randomize the wallpapers results (Random section, doh!), browse the most popular wallpapers or leave a comment. The random/toplist sections also contain the filter ribbon so you can customize your results as you wish. :)
That's basically everything if it comes to the basic functioonalities. It's obviously only a tip of the iceberg, but if you just want to search/randomize your wallpapers, thats it. The rest is straightforward and intuitive.
The more advanced features are described below. :)
